Art vs. Science


The arts and sciences have always competed for equal spots in my heart and to this very day, are sharing a seat.  I felt pressure, of course, to choose a single passion, and often disguised my involvement with the other as a hobby.  As I grew more comfortable in my own skin, I realized that I had a unique set of talents, that I identified with neither the left brained crowd nor the right. I spent the longest time debating what.. exactly.. I should put in that empty space underneath my name on my business cards.


The push.play. movement was born out of the realization that science does not have to be lacking in creativity - which, by the way is defined as: 

c r e a t i v i t y  (n.) [kree-ey-tiv-i-tee] //  the ability to transcend traditional ideas, rules, patterns, relationships, or the like, and to create meaningful new ideas, forms, methods, interpretations, etc.

Wow. New ideas? Meaningful methods? If we take a good look at medicine, sport science, athletic training, fitness... each perfectly embodies the core component of creativity, yet the industry has fooled us into believing that we can only trust cold, regimented protocols and strict rules. Just as each of our bodies is different, so should be our approach to our individual health. Push.play. will present the latest in science, nutrition, fitness, and psychology in an artistic, entertaining, and scientifically accurate voice. It will feature articles that will encourage you to embrace your most healthy, most creative, and most uniquely beautiful you

In order to see growth, you must first put in work. This rings true in all areas of life, but especially fitness. You will never know your limits unless you push yourself to them. 

p l a y.        

Few things are sustainable that do not bring happiness. Take time out of your day to play! People who cultivate a positive mindset perform better in the face of a challenge; without play, there is no push.

All of the goals you may have placed on temporary pause, now is the time to take steps towards making them a reality. Push play on your life.
